Plant Mechanic – Prescott, AZ
August 23, 2023 2023-08-23 13:26The Plant Mechanic is responsible for the successful operation of extrusion blow mold machines and auxiliary equipment according to company standard operating procedures.
Essential Functions
• Actively maintain a safe plant environment
• Maintain the operating condition of extrusion blow mold machinery
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs
• Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear
• Observe and test the operation of machinery to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices
• Analyze test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing or repairs
• Operate newly repaired machinery to verify the adequacy of repairs
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
• Record parts or materials used and requisition new parts and materials
• Record repairs and maintenance performed
• Study blueprints and manuals to determine correct operation of machinery
• Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to apprentice mechanics and machine operators
Education & Experience
• Associate degree or Certified Technical Training in equipment repair is preferred.
• Three years of hands-on hydraulic, electrical & pneumatic systems experience is preferred.
• Two years of hands-on motor repair experience is preferred.
